    Hello everyone, here is a simple enough question. I have also posted it on FB, so apologies for the duplication.

    For a new team, what are the recommended:

    1. Commercial testing tools?
    2. Open source testing tools?
    3. Testing and QA Management tools?

    The context is that we are looking to offer manual and automated load, stress, performance testing services and have an anchor client from whom we will source business.

    Even I wud like to contribute few things..abt BUG raising….frm my experience….
    - A tester shud first read and understand the business/client perspective behind the specification.
    - In case of improper documentation …one shud regress or play around with that part of the functionality to understand the current behavior and then back-track the required enhancement.
    - Regarding the topic of raising bug and the developer growling at you…for this part I believe that a Tester shud first be logical/reasonable

  • contracting - Becoming a contract tester/test lead/manager - Whats the best way to do it

    Hi Jamie,

    You'll find it easier to get a contract if you're able to start quickly, ie within a week or two. Would you be looking for a contract and then resigning and therefore serving our your notice period? That would make it a little harder.

    Apart from the sites James has mentioned www.jobserve.com is also a pretty good one and a lot of agencies are tweeting jobs now, also Linkedin Grps. This probably won't help for the short term but building up a network of good recruiters helps immensely
